Gearheads live for the weekend, especially when it's warm. We open the garage doors, crack some beers, and get to work. What are you working on this weekend?

Kinja'd!!!

Tomorrow Midengineer and I are going to replace the timing belt and water pump on the C-Rex. Looking at the belt it probably doesn't need it, but I bought this car to learn some wrenching skills on and at 135,000 miles with no record of previous belt replacement it's better safe than sorry.

I've also got some cosmetic work to do including putting a vinyl stripe on the side to mimic the moulding that was shaved by a previous owner and plastidipping some stuff black. I'm also hoping to dip the wheels, they are pretty beat up so as a temporary fix I'm going to cover it with dip.

Share your weekend plans with us here, and don't forget to let us know how they went!

No work this weekend, but on the list for this spring are a new accessory belt and removal of the running boards on my 4Runner.

I have also considered spraying the lower rocker panels with truck bed liner for protection from rocks and such. We'll see...

BJ...on the rockers...is that a project you have any interest in doing together? My under rockers are rusting and I'd rather stop it before it gets out of control. I'd come to you if you want. But not yet, still WAY too cold bud. Was -22C this morning.

I'm going to be welding together tubing and bar to redesign a suspension system and how it works. Mostly so I can adjust it with linear actuators. #LeaveMeAloneIKnowWhatI'mDoing

Sure, if we can get organised on it. I need to plan around weather (obviously) and the kids, probably I'll need to book my time off well in advance... :)

Are you thinking of doing any sanding/cutting, or just painting over to keep things in check?

Sanding yes. Cutting no, I don't know how and I don't think it's that bad yet. Structural integrity still there.

What kind of timeline were you thinking? It won't be "legitimately" warm for another month yet.

Installing an upgraded fuel pump and mounting the Apexi ECU and commander in the mazda rx-7. I'm also doing some planning on the water/methanol injection system.

The temp might get above freezing this weekend!!! I'm gonna finish up installing poly bushings in the AW11 and then work on installing my new-to-me Sparco racing seat.

Pulling the engine out of my Outback to do the heads so I can get it ready to sell, and I'm going to sand & seal a little surface rust on the new daily cruiser if there's time left. The Outback I have to do. This, I might just end up drinking beer and looking at while thinking about all the great shit I want to do.

Plans are to de-winterize (summerize?) my dear motorcycle and move the battery tender over to the Miata, as it is a bit farther behind.

The Miata will hopefully make some more progress on the roll bar install, and get the front suspension put back together. I made an appointment for an alignment next Saturday, so now I have a deadline. It still needs the seats reinstalled, top put back on, rear suspension torqued down...well, you get the picture.

I'm not doing anything with my hands, but I have to give a lecture next Wednesday on molecular genetics and bioendormatics. I have to know what all this stuff means http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2490169…

Meeting a guy in the morning to, possibly, pass the keys to the Amazon off to a new home. Past that, I'm planning on cleaning up the other three, and getting the fronts swapped to the Michelin all-seasons on the 940. (I've got to move one of them from a broken wheel to a non-broken wheel...)

Ottawa has been so cold this year it really was a struggle. The average temperature for Ottawa in Feb was 1F. To give you some idea about how cold that it, the average low temperature for Syracuse NY in Feb is 17F. I hope today is our last below 0F day!!!

I'm just gonna enjoy some sun, and something a little warmer than single digit temps.

One project is gonna be getting the grille fired up. before we moved, the grille was plumbed into natural gas. I've actually never really run a propane grille, never owned a 20 pound cylinder!
So I still have the original jets, hose, and regulator from before I converted the grille to natural.

Here where we live now, natural isn't an option, so I'ma gonna buy me a propane cylinder and convert her back to canned gas.

Here's to a great nascar race and some BBQ'd ribs on Sunday.

FINALLY, TEMPS ABOVE FREEZING! I need to finish the see-saw stabilizers in the back of the bus. Then rewire the fog lights on the vert. By the end of next week, I should have pics of the vert buttoned down inside the bus with the doors closed.
